Men’s Cross Country Place Fourth at Commodore Classic 9/21/02
Cote Leads Vanderbilt with 22nd-Place Finish

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Vanderbilt men’s cross country team took fourth place at the 8K Commodore Classic Saturday morning at Vaughn’s Creek course in Nashville. The ‘Dores earned 110 team points leading them to a fourth place finish amoung the Division I competators. Leading the individual race was Belmont’s William Kemey, who won the race with a time of 25:25.

Vanderbilt was led by John Cote, who placed 22nd with a time of 28:02. Also scoring for the Commodores were Tyler Harlan (28th place, 28:11), Matt Doll (36th place, 28:43), Taylor Hindle (48th place, 29:24) and Mike Gaske (49th place, 29:26). Other finishers included, Ryan Williams (64th place, 29:57), Ariel Prater (98th place, 31:14), and Mitchell Chessman (130th place, 34:21).

The Commodores will now travel to pre-regionals on October 6 in Birmingham, Ala.
