Men’s Cross Country Claim 7th at Belmont Opener 9/6/02

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Commodore Men’s Cross Country team claimed seventh place at the Belmont Opener 5K race at Vaughns Creek. SEC powerhouse Alabama took home the title totaling 27 points. The Tide was led by Peter Kiprono coming in first with a time of 15:46.

Leading the way for the ‘Dores was junior John Cote (36, 17:11) and Tyler Harlan (37, 17:22). Other Commodore scorers included Mike Gaske (44, 17:37), Taylor Hindle (50, 17:55) and Ryan Williams (51, 17:57). Finishing up for the ‘Dores were Ariel Prater (70, 19:03), Mitchell Chessman (88, 20:29) and David Brogan (97, 23:15).

The Commodores will travel to Knoxville on the Sept. 13 to compete in the Tennessee Invite before returning to Nashville for the Commodore Classic on September 21.
