Lacrosse Ranking Best Ever 3/6/02

Vanderbilt is ranked No. 11 in the latest national lacrosse poll, its best ranking in school history.

The Commodores have begun the year with two impressive victories. In their opener, they upset Johns Hopkins on the road and last week came home to defeat then 11th ranked Penn State.

Vanderbilt is participating in the newly formed American Lacrosse Conference this year. Other league members rated are Penn State (13) and Johns Hopkins (20).

The Commodores play at No. 2 rated Georgetown Wednesday, their third consecutive rated opponent and play top ranked Duke Saturday in Durham.
