Tellam Sets Two School Records as Lacrosse Downs Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C.- April Tellam scored five goals, and added a school record seven assists, for a school record total of 12 points, as Vanderbilt easily defeated Davidson in their 1999 season opener Monday afternoon.

The Commodores jumped in front 5-0 on goals from Caroline Mans, two from Tellam, and one apiece from Amanda Rice and Kristin Ehst, before Davidson broke through on starting goalie Emily Lough (goaltending statistics were not immediately available).

Senior tri-captain Kristin Ehst added three goals and two assists, senior attacker Andrea Legath and freshman Kinsey Osberg each added two goals and an assist, Amanda Rice had two goals, and Caroline Mans had a goal and an assist for Vanderbilt (1-0). Lauren Kenchington and Molly Cherington led Davidson (0-1) with two goals and an assist apiece.

The Commodores, now 3-1 in season-openers and 4-0 all-time against Davidson, will host 1998 NCAA Tournament participant Georgetown this Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Central time.
