Susan Pley begins her fourth season as an assistant coach working primarily
with the defense. Pley joined the Commodore staff in 2000. Prior to Vanderbilt,
she was the assistant lacrosse and field hockey coach at Moorestown Friends
High School (New Jersey) for from 1997-2000. She helped lead her team to the
1999 Friends League lacrosse championship.
Pley, who was a teammate of Vanderbilt head coach Cathy Swezey at Trenton
State, was a two-time All-America selection and was named Defensive Player of
the Year in 1994 on the IWLCA. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trenton
State in Sociology.
"Sue's contribution to our program has been outstanding," Swezey said.
"Our players consistently count on her knowledge and experience to assist
them in their development. She will continue to play an integral part in our
success and growth as we position ourselves for another NCAA Tournament bid."
Pley also assists in the CHAMPS/Life Skills program.
