First Collegiate Starts
Eleven Commodores recorded their first collegiate starts, including Jay Cutler (QB), Nick Getter (TE), Matthew Tant (FB) and Norval McKenzie (RB) on offense and Jovan Haye (DE), Matt Clay (DT), Aaron Carter (DT), Moses Osemwegie (WLB), Eric Byrum (SLB) and Dominique Morris (CB) on defense. Greg Johnson (P/PK) also made his first collegiate start. Tant, who started at fullback also saw action at tailback.

Twenty-two Commodores appeared in their first collegiate game, including Grant Brigham (WR), Jay Cutler (QB), Cheron Thompson (CB), Kelechi Ohanaja (CB), Keith Williams (WR), Matthew Tant (RB), Moses Osemwegie (WLB), Andrew Pace (S), Kwane Doster (RB), Bara Cola (FB), Herdley Harrison (LB), Howdy MacPherson (Holder), Chris Booker (DE), Trey Holloway (DT), Dustin Dunning (TE), Jovan Haye (DE), Ralph McKenzie (DT), Greg Johnson (K), Ray Brown (DT), Ryan King (OT), Nigel Seaman (OG) and Grant Brigham (WR).

General Notes
Cutler completed his first collegiate pass attempt with 7:11 remaining in the first quarter on a shovel pass to Norval McKenzie for a six-yard gain.

Right guard Jordan Pettit left the game at the 6:44 mark of the first quarter after suffering a broken tibia in right leg. Kovolisky replaced Pettit at right guard. Kenan Arkan entered at right tackle.

Benji Walker (QB), Ronald Hatcher (RB) and Bara Cola (FB) took the backfield for the Commodores first offensive possession of the second quarter.

Kwane Doster went 31 yards on his first collegiate return with 6:35 remaining in the second quarter.
