NASHVILLE - TalkRadio 990 KWAM in Memphis has reached an
agreement to carry live play-by-play broadcasts of Vanderbilt
football and men's basketball on the Vanderbilt ISP Sports
Radio Network this fall.
"We are excited about this partnership between TalkRadio
990 KWAM and Vanderbilt University," said Bruce Demps,
Regional Vice President for Clear Channel Radio. "The
Commodores have a strong following in the area and we are
happy to give them the opportunity to follow their favorite
team during the year."
That enthusiasm is shared by Vanderbilt and ISP Sports, the
multimedia rightsholder for Vanderbilt Athletics.
"Memphis is one of the great sports cities of the South
and we are proud to be represented there by TalkRadio 990,"
said Vanderbilt Director of Athletics Todd Turner. "This
partnership will have a very positive impact on our overall
athletics program."
The agreement with KWAM is also an indication of continued
progress with the Vanderbilt radio network, according to Meghan
Molnar, Assistant Vice President of ISP Sports and General
Manager of the company's Vanderbilt sales staff.
"Adding TalkRadio 990 to our list of affiliates is a
major step in the growth of the Vanderbilt ISP Sports Network
and provides us a stronger presence in the Memphis area, which
is so important to our fans there," Molnar stated.
Based in Winston-Salem, N.C., ISP Sports also manages radio
networks for Georgia Tech, Marshall, Southern Mississippi,
Tulane, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, covering 11 states
and listing nearly 200 affiliates among its total network
membership.
