‘Southern Sports Tonight’
Radio Show Airs Tonight From Vanderbilt Campus 8/27/02
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vanderbilt
Football Head Coach Bobby Johnson and several other Commodore
coaches and athletic officials are scheduled to appear live
today on “Valvoline Southern Sports Tonight,” the regional
radio show syndicated to more than 150 stations throughout
the Southeast.
The show will air from 5:00-8:00
p.m., CST, from The Cooker on West End Avenue located one
block from Vanderbilt Stadium. Commodore fans are encouraged
to visit the remote site.
Scott McKinney will host
the show, while co-host Max Howell will appear via telephone
from Atlanta. “I’d love to have a full house of Commodore
followers come out to The Cooker, show their support and have
a good time,” McKinney said.
The Nashville location is part
of Southern Sports Tonight’s popular annual caravan of Southern
universities as a preview of the upcoming gridiron season.
Coach Johnson, three days away
from directing his first game with the Commodores when Vanderbilt
visits Georgia Tech, will appear on the program at 7:05 p.m.

and Vanderbilt Assistant Athletic Director of Major Gifts
Chris Wyrick also are scheduled to appear. Recorded interviews
with Vanderbilt Director of Athletics Todd Turner and
three football assistant coaches - Assistant Head Coach/Offensive
Line Coach Robbie Caldwell, Offensive Coordinator
Ted Cain and Defensive Coordinator Bruce Fowler
- will be aired during the broadcast.
