Nashville, Tenn. - Thirteen former
Commodores, including nine starters from the 2001 season,
went through a battery of assessment drills administered Tuesday
by National Football League scouts.
The Pro Timing Day was conducted
in the Commodores' new football weightroom and at Tennessee
Titans headquarters in Nashville.
The on-campus combine attracted
13 players from the 2001 Commodore roster, including nine
starters: QB Greg Zolman, RB Lew Thomas, RB Rodney Williams,
OT Pat Green, DE Wally Conyers, LB Antuian Bradford, LB Nate
Morrow, safety Harold Lercius and punter Joe Webb.
Other Commodores participating
were DT Doyle Crosby, WR Nezih Hasanoglu, QB Tim Olmstead
and WR Everett Robinson.

Representatives of 27 NFL franchises
attended the on-campus talent combine, a requirement for any
former Commodore hoping to be considered for the upcoming
NFL Draft.
The first part of Pro Timing
Day was staged in the VU weightroom, with each player being
correctly measured for height and weight. They were also evaluated
on standard conditioning drills, such as the vertical leaping
ability and bench press, before travelling across town to
the Titans' complex for speed, agility and position testing.
"I thought it went very well,"
Vanderbilt Speed, Strength and Conditioning Coach John Sisk
said. "With the weather conditions, it was huge of the Titans
to allow us the use of their facilities. We're very appreciative
of their assistance."
