MATCHUP FEATURES OPENER FOR BOTH HEAD COACHES
Both head coaches - Bobby Johnson of Vanderbilt and Chan Gailey of Georgia Tech - will be directing their first games at their schools. In 2001, Johnson coached Furman to a national I-AA runnerup finish. Gailey directed the Miami Dolphins’ offense last year. This is the first meeting between Johnson and Gailey, a former collegiate head coach at Samford and Troy State.
