Swoopes returned healthy this spring from an leg injury suffered in redshirt freshman season. Looking to work into playing role at safety and special teams. Has added 15 pounds to frame since arriving on campus.

Three-year starter at safety... Also started at WR as senior... PrepStar All-Southeast selection, and honorable mention All-Northeast Georgia... Recorded 50 tackles and posted two INTs as senior... Also blocked punt and field goal, and recovered three fumbles... Was two-year letterman in basketball on state tournament team, and three-year letterman in track... 3.7 GPA... Member of National Honor Society and Beta Club.

Son of Ronnie and Annie Swoopes... Born May 22, 1983... Dad is career counselor at University of Georgia, mom is employee at AT&T... One of four siblings... Dad was All-SEC DT on 1976 SEC champion at Georgia, and played four years in NFL... Four uncles played collegiate football... A younger brother, Randall, is a freshman football player at UGa... Enjoys XBox and Playstation 2 video games, cards and recreational basketball.
