Prospects
Enters summer camp with the Commodores’ starting tailback
position at stake. Is competing with Ronald Hatcher and Ian
Gaines for starting role. McKenzie impressed coaches last
spring with ability to find openings from I-back formation
and explosive speed. Coaching staff looking for a tailback
- perhaps McKenzie - to step forward and take the job.

Played in nine games... Duties included special teams and
reserve RB... Played behind seniors Lew Thomas and Rodney
Williams... Gained 37 yards on five carries vs. Florida, 24
yards on four carries vs. Kentucky, and 20 yards on three
carries vs. Tennessee... First career catch (six yards) came
against Florida.

Team captain and three-year starter at RB... Nominated for
Wendy’s High School Heisman Trophy... Scored 26 TDs, rushing
for 1,678 yards (9.3 yards per carry) as a senior...Caught
13 passes for 208 yards... Selected as Street & Smith’s preseason
Top 50 running back... Listed as one of Georgia’s top recruits
by USA Today... Named second team All-state and two-time first
team All-Region.
