Garrett enters the fall as the starting wide receiver opposite
Dan Stricker and 100% healthy for the first time in a year.
One the Commodores’ hardest workers, the senior leader runs
solid routes and has the size to go over the middle.
2001
Played all 11 games, starting in eight, including final five
contests... Posted career highs in catches (27), yards (455)
and TDs (4)... In opener vs. MTSU, enjoyed one of the finest
games ever by the VU receiver - eight catches, 219 yards (second
highest in team history) and TD... Also caught 73-yard TD
pass, longest of year for ‘Dores... Never fully recovered
from shoulder separation suffered late in MTSU game... Caught
54-yard TD pass at Duke, and 26-yard TD at Ole Miss.
2000
Played in every game, starting in six... Best game of season
in finale vs. Tennessee - four catches and two TDs to ignite
late rally... Also had pair of catches, including a 36-yarder
in Duke win.
1999
Saw action in all 11 games... Only catch of the season was
a 61-yard touchdown reception against Northern Illinois...
One of three ‘Dores to score TD on their first career reception.
High School
Holds all school receiving records including career receptions
(128), career receiving yards (2,201), receiving touchdowns
in a game (4), catches in a game (9) and receptions in a season
(61)... Led the team in tackles as a senior...Team recorded
a 15-0 mark...Two-time all-state... The only two sport all-stater
in school history (football and soccer)... Scored more than
1,000 career points in basketball... 4.0 GPA as a senior.
