Prospects
A valuable reserve as a freshman, Byrum will compete for one
less LB position in 4-3 set. Has the combination of size and
strength to compete for substantial playing time at either
inside or outside at linebacker. Appears 100% from late-season
foot injury... One of three true freshmen to earn letter last
year.
2001
Byrum saw limited playing time in nine games at OLB in the
Commodores’ 3-4 defense... Credited with four total tackles,
one each against Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina and Ole Miss...Nagging
ankle injury against South Carolina slowed progress in second
half of season.
High School
Three-year varsity player in Columbus suburb school... Two-way
starter (RB and LB) as senior... Team captain as senior...
Named first team All-Ohio Capital Conference after senior
season... As senior, recorded 80 tackles and scored seven
TDs on offense... Team finished 5-5 as senior and 12-1 as
junior... Team went to third round of Ohio state playoffs
