The Austin Peay Series Vanderbilt leads the all-time
series 38-17-2 dating back to 1958. Austin Peay swept the
Commodores last year, winning 7-5 (3/27/01) and 9-3 (5/1/01).
The Governors hold a 12-9 advantage in the series since 1990.
Earlier This Season vs. Austin Peay... Scott Vanderhoff’s
two-RBI single and Karl Nonemaker’s RBI fielder’s choice accounted
for Vanderbilt’s three-run ninth inning as the Commodores
rallied past Austin Peay, 6-5, April 9, at Raymond C. Hand
Park.
• Vanderbilt baseball looks to record its 36th 20- win season
in program history Wednesday against Austin Peay. The Commodores
have won at least 20 games every year since 1969. VU also
won 22 games in 1905 and 20 games in 1921.
• Roy Mewbourne won his 650th game as Vanderbilt head coach
Sunday against Mississippi State. He also coached in his 1,600th
career game (30 seasons at Vanderbilt and Birmingham Southern).
• Chris Broadus is currently on a career-high and team-best
10-game hit streak with a .395 (15-for-38) average, seven
RBI, and three doubles and nine runs scored.
• John Kaye leads all Commodores with six home runs and 19
RBI in conference play.
• Sean Luellwitz leads all Commodores with a .378 average,
59 hits, 14 doubles, 42 RBI and a .635 slugging percentage.
