Vanderbilt-Austin Peay Baseball Game Halted Due
to Darkness
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - The Vanderbilt at Austin Peay
baseball game scheduled for Tuesday evening was halted
with no score in the top of the second inning because
of darkness. A short circuit in a lighting unit over
the first-base dugout caused the unsuitable playing
conditions.
After a 1 hour and 26 minute delay, repairs could not
be made and the game was postponed. A make-up date has
not been scheduled.
Vanderbilt's Warner Jones led off the second frame
with an infield single and Tony Mansolino was at the
plate with a one-ball, two-strike count when the malfunction
occurred.
The Commodores (13-10, 2-4 SEC) travel to South Carolina
this weekend for a three-game Southeastern Conference
series. Games times are Friday at 7 p.m. ET, Saturday
at 4 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
