fall and fared well."
As a Freshman (2002): Made 13 appearances out of the Commodore bullpen;
no starts... His 13 appearances tied for third-most on the team... Earned his
first collegiate win against Lipscomb (2/20), allowing one hit and striking
out one in two innings pitched... Also pitched two innings against Belmont (3/13),
surrendering one hit, one earned run and a walk... Struck out a season high
two batters against Evansville (4/17)... Did not allow a home run during the
season in 12 innings of work... Spent summer training at the IMG Baseball Academy
in
Bradenton, Fla.
High School: Posted a 6-3 record with 100 strikeouts and a 0.90 ERA
in 75 innings pitched last year at Woodberry Forest School... Registered a 7-1
mark with 92 strikeouts and a 0.61 ERA in 70 innings pitched as a junior.. Was
named All-Prep League and honorable mention All-State by the Charlottesville
Daily Progress as a junior and senior... Helped guide his team to the Prep League
title in 1999, a runners-up finish in 2000, and a third-place finish in 2001.
Lettered four years in football where he was All- Prep League and All-State
honors... Lettered three years in basketball... Received the school's highest
honor, the
Archer Memorial Medal, at graduation... Headed the honor council and was named
a Walker Scholar for his 4.0 GPA.
