to the Commodore Teams for their Fall 2002 Academic Accomplishments

  • Women’s Basketball – 36% of the team earned a 3.0 semester GPA or better.
  • Women’s Cross Country – Ranked 1st (Women) and 2nd (Overall) in the team competitions for the ACE awards. Earned highest team semester GPA (3.443) and highest team cumulative GPA (3.462) of all the teams. 93% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA.
  • Women’s Golf – 57% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA. Ranked 3rd (Women) for highest team cumulative GPA (3.147) and 4th (Women) for highest team semester GPA (3.185).
  • Lacrosse – Ranked 2nd (Women) and 4th (Overall) for the ACE awards. Earned most improved team GPA from the previous comparable semester (Fall 2001) with a 0.313 increase. Had the highest increase of student-athletes above a 3.0 semester GPA (+6). 80% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA.
  • Women’s Soccer – 60% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA. Tied for 2nd (Women) for the largest increase of student-athletes above a 3.0 semester GPA (+3).
  • Women’s Tennis – Earned 2nd (Women) highest team semester GPA (3.291) and 2nd (Women) team cumulative GPA (3.238). 86% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA.
  • Track and Field – Ranked 3rd (Women) for the ACE awards. Boasted a 3.137 team semester GPA and earned a ranking in every academic improvement category in the ACE awards. 65% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA. 1st (Overall and Women) for the increase in the number of student-athletes on the Dean’s List from the previous semester (+4).
  • Baseball – Ranked 4th (Men) for highest team semester GPA (2.816). 33% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA.
  • Men’s Basketball – Ranked 3rd (Men) for the most improved team GPA from both the previous semester (Spring 2002) and the previous comparable semester (Fall 2001) with 0.008 and 0.155 increases respectively. 21% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA.
  • Men’s Cross Country – Ranked 2nd (Men) and 3rd (Overall) for the ACE awards. Earned 1st (Men) for highest team semester GPA (3.318) and 1st (Men) for highest team cumulative GPA (3.263). 82% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA. Earned 1st (Men) for most improved team GPA from the previous semester (Spring 2002) with a 0.431 increase.
  • Football – Ranked 1st (Men) for the largest increase in the number of student-athletes on the Dean’s List (+3). 33% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA.
  • Men’s Golf – Ranked 3rd (Men) for the ACE awards. Ranked 3rd (Men) for highest team semester GPA (2.947) and 4th (Men) for highest team cumulative GPA (2.886). Finished 2nd (Men) in two other categories. 44% of team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA.
  • Men’s Soccer – Ranked 3rd (Men) for highest team cumulative GPA (2.899) and 4th (Men) in Dean’s List improvements. 48% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA.
  • Men’s Tennis – Ranked 1st (Overall) and 1st (Men) for the ACE awards by ranking in all six categories. Ranked 2nd (Men) in both the highest team semester GPA (3.186) and highest team cumulative GPA (3.080). Ranked 1st (Men) for the largest increase in the number of student-athletes earning above a 3.0 GPA (+5). 78% of the team earned a 3.0 or better semester GPA.
