Tickets are NOT required for any Commencement Ceremony. Ceremony seating is first come, first served.
Tickets ARE required for three Commencement events: THE PARTY, the Senior Class Day Speaker, and the GlobalVU Luncheon.
Online ticketing for these events has ceased. To get tickets for The Party or Senior Day Speaker:
The Party -- tickets are available at the door, Wednesday, May 7, 9 p.m. $20 each, cash preferred.
Senior Day Speaker -- these tickets are free and will be available at The Party, Wednesday, May 7, OR at the information table in front of Kirkland Hall on Thursday, May 8, 9-10 a.m.
GlobalVU luncheon -- tickets are no longer available.

THE PARTY: A simple name that says it all! THE PARTY is the kick-off event for the Commencement festivities, with entertainment by The Commodores. THE PARTY 2008 will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, from 9:00 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $20.
Senior Class Day Speaker Bob Geldof: Tickets (free) are required for the Senior Class Day speaker on Thursday, May 8, 2008. All students will enter using their VU ID. Additional tickets may be requested for guests of graduating students.
Faculty and staff may request 2 (two) tickets each. There are a limited number of tickets reserved for faculty and staff.
Graduate and professional school students may enter with their VU ID and request 2 (two) additional tickets each.
GlobalVU Luncheon: A new look at the old Commodore Brunch. Food and drink from every region of the world set beneath the towering magnolias of the university's Stevenson Center Plaza. This event is sold out.
In event of rain or severe weather: There is a threat of severe weather on Thursday. Senior Class Day events are being held in their severe weather locations:
Senior Class Day speaker is moving to Memorial Gym.
GlobalVU Luncheon is moving to the Student Rec Center.
Senior Send-Off is moving from the Rand Terrace into Rand Hall.
For the Senior Class Day speaker, attendees should arrive at Memorial Gymnasium no later than 9:45 a.m. There will be no procession. Seniors should take seats on the gym floor. Parents and families should sit in the stands.
As of Wednesday morning, we anticipate that Commencement exercises will be held outside on Alumni Lawn. Please continue to check this Web site and the Vanderbilt homepage for the most up-to-date information or call a Vanderbilt telephone operator (615-322-7311) after 6 a.m. on the morning of the event.
The rain location for the Peabody College postbaccalaureate ceremony is under a tent on the Peabody Mall.
Rain will not affect the other professional schools or the Graduate School hooding and diploma-awarding ceremonies.
