Thursday, May 8, 2008, Senior Class Day
9:30 a.m.
Undergraduate seniors line up on Kirkland Esplanade for ceremonial exit through the Vanderbilt gates. Because of severe weather, there will be no procession. The Senior Day Speaker event will take place in Memorial Gym. Please arrive at Memorial Gymnasium no later than 9:45 am. Seniors should take seats on the gym floor. Parents and families should sit in the stands.
10 a.m.
Senior Class Day Speaker. Speaker: Live Aid organizer Bob Geldof. This event has been moved to Memorial Gymnasium because of severe weather. Tickets required. Tickets are available (at no charge) here.
11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
GlobalVU Luncheon.. For students, family members and guests. Tickets are required. Ticket available here. Because of severe weather, this event has been moved to the Student Rec Center.
1:30-4 p.m.

Degree Candidates Line Up. Alumni Lawn.

Commencement. Academic Procession moves at 9 a.m.; ceremonies on stage begin at 9:20 a.m. and end about 11:45 a.m. for undergraduates. Graduate and professional degree recipients and their faculties will recess at approximately 10:15 a.m. Alumni Lawn (Memorial Gymnasium in case of severe weather).
11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Strawberries and Champagne Celebration for the class of 2008 and their guests, hosted by the Chancellor. Bishop's Common.
12:30-2 p.m.
Box lunches for School of Medicine graduates and their families. Tent near Langford Auditorium.
