Where to Stay and Eat

Accommodations at the Commons

The Vanderbilt University Office of Conferences is offering on campus housing during the 2015 Commencement activities. Commencement guests will have the opportunity to stay in Hank Ingram House, one of the most beautiful, state-of-the-art residence halls on campus. Nightly rates are only $99 per night, single or double occupancy. Rooms are available for the nights of May 6, 7 and 8, 2015. There is no minimum night stay required. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The Hank Ingram House is fully ADA compliant. View more information about Accommodations at the Commons. The reservation deadline is May 1, 2015.

On-Campus Dining Hours

There are a number of award-winning on-campus dining options available to all Commencement guests. View all the available options.

Commencement 2015 On-Campus Dining Hours

Chef James Bistro (Sarratt Student Center) - offers a variety of gourmet entrees and sides, soup, coffee and grab and go meals.

  • May 4-6: 7 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • May 7-8: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Rand Dining Center (Sarratt Student Center) – offers coffee, breakfast, and lunch including salad bar, deli sandwiches, world cuisine, Mexican and burgers.

  • May 7: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (boxed lunch pickup 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)
  • May 8: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (boxed lunch pickup 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)

Campus Store (Sarratt Student Center) – located on the second floor outside of Rand Dining Center, offers convenience items, bottled beverages, snacks and grab-and-go items such as sandwiches and salads.

  • May 4-6: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • May 7: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • May 8: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Common Grounds (The Commons) – coffee shop/store offering grab-and-go meals, beverages, snacks, and sundries.

  • May 4-8, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Varsity Towers (First Floor – Carmichael Towers East) – offers convenience items, coffee, bottled and fountain beverages, snacks and grab-and-go items such as sandwiches, salads, fruit and more.

  • May 4-7: 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Varsity Morgan (First Floor Morgan) – offers convenience items, coffee, bottled and fountain beverages, snacks and grab and go items such as sandwiches, salads, fruit and more.

  • May 4-7: 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Last Drop Coffee Shop (Sarratt Student Center) – coffee shop offering grab & go meals, hot soup and panini of the day, beverages, snacks, and pastries.

  • May 8, 7:00 a.m. – 2 p.m.

On Campus Dining Options for Commencement Day

Private Receptions

The capstone to your graduate’s college life is an on-campus celebration. Let us take care of the planning while you enjoy the festivities with family and friends.

Your package will include lunch, champagne and mimosas, rental of a private room, tables, chairs, linens, and décor. Audio Visual options can be added to any package by calling our office. We can customize your reception. Please contact us for more details.

Private Commencement Receptions start at $60 per person.

Receptions are available on May 8, 2015 beginning at 12:00 pm.

The Reservation Deadline is April 17, 2015

Commodore Ballroom Buffet Lunch

Avoid making lunch reservations off campus and enjoy our upscale buffet lunch in the CommodoreBallroom at the Student Life Center.

Your reservation will include buffet lunch, champagne bar, and seating times to accommodate your busy schedule.

Commencement Lunch reservations are $30 per person.

You can choose to be seated at 11:30 am or 1:00 pm.

Express Lunch

Enjoy the experience of dining like your student did – with the award-winning Campus Dining. Eat at Rand Dining Center for breakfast, lunch, or both on May 7 and 8. Pre-purchase meals at a discounted price of $8/meal. Rand Dining Center offers a huge variety of dishes such as build-your-own-salads, fresh deli sandwiches, Mexican, barbeque, burgers, soup, baked goods, comfort food, and much more.  To-go meals are available.
