Dress (suggested) for Commencement events: All ceremony participants will be wearing caps and gowns. For graduates we suggest wearing nice clothing under your gowns as there are receptions after each ceremony and you may want to return your regalia first, especially if it's a warm day.
For guests, we recommend business attire. But note: springtime in Nashville can bring changeable weather. Dress with an eye to the weather and comfort. Layered clothing is a suggested strategy as mornings can be cool. Women should wear low heels or flats to make it easier to navigate the various lawns during Commencement festivities. Be reminded that Memorial Gym, the severe weather location for several Commencement events, is NOT air-conditioned.
Paper fans and bottled water will be available at all ceremony locations.
