Assistant Director, Center for Latin American and Iberian Studies, Vanderbilt University

Vanderbilt’s Center for Latin American and Iberian Studies seeks a full-time staff Assistant Director. A growing Title VI National Resource Center, we are looking for an energetic candidate with strong writing and organizational skills; the ability to effectively communicate the Center’s mission and goals to a variety of constituencies; and language proficiency in Spanish (knowledge of Portuguese would be an additional asset). Duties will include writing grant proposals and preparing performance reports for the university and federal funding agencies; planning and coordinating program events; supervising student assistants; writing news releases and other promotional materials; and overseeing budgets of program accounts.

Candidates must have at least a bachelor's degree (a Master’s is desirable), ideally with knowledge of Latin America; be proficient in Spanish (knowledge of Portuguese is desirable); and have experience writing academic grants and reports.
