Vanderbilt Synthesis

Explore the Synthesis Site:

Research and education in chemical synthesis is an integral part of the mission of the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology. From the targeted synthesis of biologically active natural products and drug candidates to the synthesis of DNA-small molecule adducts to study the mechanism of toxicity, organic synthesis here is as diverse as the environments in which it is practiced. Our science is found not only in the Department of Chemistry, but also in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, and Radiology. And given the physical proximity of these laboratories, there is often a high degree of intra campus collaboration found within. If chemical synthesis@vanderbilt interests you, use these pages as a resource for the educational and informational value they contain. The community behind this effort welcomes you as well to join us for the first series of evening Community of Synthesis gatherings where cross-disciplinary topics presented by the next generation of health professionals will both inform and teach you new skills.
