Keersten Davis Awarded National Science Foundation Pre-doctoral Fellowship
Keersten Davis, a graduate student in chemistry working with Prof. David Wright, has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) pre-doctoral fellowship to support her research proposal entitled "Utilizing the Coffee Ring Phenomenon for Molecular Recognition and Separation." Her proposed work has applications in providing an easy-to-use and low-cost sample collection and preparation system that will facilitate medical diagnostic testing to people who live in the poorest areas of the world. The NSF pre-doctoral fellowship program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines and has a long history of selecting recipients who achieve high levels of success in their future academic and professional careers. Congratulations, Keersten!
