Prof. Stone Elected to Leadership Position in the American Chemical Society Division of Chemical Toxicology
Prof. Stone has been elected by his peers as Member-at-Large of the Executive Committee of the American Chemical Society Division of Chemical Toxicology. Prof. Stone's expertise is in chemistry and structural biology of DNA damage. He directs the Structural Biology Core of the Vanderbilt University Center in Molecular Toxicology. The ACS Division of Chemical Toxicology provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of research and opportunities in chemical toxicology under the support and auspices of the American Chemical Society. The collective perspective is that of the many chemists and biochemists whose research is focused on toxicology. The goals are to gain involvement and commitment from both academic and industrial scientists in order to identify programs directed at their respective needs, interests, and specialties. Prof. Stone is a past member of the Editorial Board of the ACS journal Chemical Research in Toxicology and has previously served as Treasurer and Chair (two terms) of the Nashville section, ACS.
