    Interviews 8:00-11:00 @ ( need a room or need to use the Admirals room)

General Information Tryout Information:
(You will need to bring proof of medical insurance including the policy number and your tryout application.)

 

The Cheer try-outs will be held each day in the Memorial Gymnasium Practice gym located on 25th Ave.  Enter the 25th Ave East side.

 

Proper attire for the final day:

For males trying out please wear shorts and a polo-style collared shirt. Females should wear a leotard and skirt, tennis style outfit, or a leotard or sports bra and shorts.  For all other sessions, t-shirts and shorts will be appropriate. Please make sure you do not wear another university, all-star, or high school clothing while trying out for the Vanderbilt Cheerleading Squad. Other than Vandy-related apparel, your practice clothes should be completely neutral of any school or gym affiliation. You will be judged on appearance so consider clothing that is appropriate. Absolutely no jewelry! Every day, female’s hair should be half up and curled with their choice of bow.

 

Requirements: (In order of actual tryout)

 

Sideline:

 

Run or tumble out and do a traditional Vandy sideline along with one to two stunts. Looking for energy, enthusiasm, your ability to lead a crowd and look confident as well as stunt.

 

Stunts:

 

One required stunt and one optional stunt. The One required stunts is:

1. Stretch (You can get in and out of the stretch any way you desire)

2. The optional stunt consists of two stunts and one transition.


Gymnastics:

  1. Optional Standing Pass (i.e. standing full, one to full, two to full, back tuck, back handspring back tuck etc…the least possible option is a back handspring.)
  2. Optional Running Pass. (your best running tumbling pass)

Fight Song:

 

We will teach you a fight song.

 

Schedule of clinics and tryouts:

These sessions are considered mandatory, you may be excused only with permission of the coaches or adviser.
