• Derek Bruff, Assistant Director at the CFT, authored an article titled "Valuing and Evaluating Teaching in the Mathematics Faculty Hiring Process" in the November 2007 issue of the Notices of the American Mathematical Society.

• Derek Bruff, Assistant Director at the CFT, authored an article titled "Clickers: A Classroom Innovation" in the October 2007 issue of The Advocate, the newsletter of the higher education division of the National Educational Association.

• Derek Bruff, Assitant Director at the CFT, authored a chapter titled "A TA Orientation Plenary Session on University Policies and Resources for Teaching" in Strategies for Teaching Assistant and International Teaching Assistant Development: Beyond Microteaching, edited by Catherine Ross and Jane Dunphy (Jossey-Bass, 2007).

• An interview with Center for Teaching assistant director Jeff Johnston about his first-year writing seminar entitled "The Earth's Oceans in the Global Environment" appeared on the Defying Oceans End website (July, 2007).

• "Center awards teaching certificates," a photo published in the May 14, 2007 edition of the Vanderbilt Register recognizes the first three graduates from the Center for Teaching's Teaching Certificate program.

• "With classroom response systems, new way of learning is only a 'click' away," an article in the April 30, 2007 edition of the Vanderbilt Register featuring Center for Teaching assistant director Derek Bruff and his work with classroom response systems (CRS).

2006

• Graduates of the Center for Teaching's Future Faculty Preparation Program (F2P2) are listed in the May 19, 2006, Vanderbilt Register article "F2P2 Honors 10 Graduates."

• The Center for Teaching's new Teaching Certificate program is profiled in the April 10, 2006, Vanderbilt Register article "Center for Teaching Enhances Certificate Program."

• The Center for Teaching's role in helping Charles Samenow, co-chief resident in the Department of Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, develop "Addiction and Society," a first-year writing seminar for undergraduates, is mentioned in the February 27, 2006, Vanderbilt Register article "Double Duty: Chief Resident Teaches First-Year Seminar."

• The Center for Teaching hosted a visit by representatives of the Center for Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning in February 2006. For more information, see the February 27, 2006, Vanderbilt Register article "VU Invited to Join NSF Collaborative Network."

2005

• Patricia Armstrong, Assistant Director of the CFT, and Katherine Stanton, Assistant Director of the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning at Princeton University, authored a collection of articles on the theme "Meaningful Assignments" in the Thriving in Academe section of the October 2005 issue of the National Education Association (NEA) Advocate.

• The CFT's work in helping to create a new "learning commons" in the Vanderbilt Central Library was mentioned in the Fall 2005 issue of the Acorn Chronicle, the newsletter of the Vanderbilt Library: "Learning Commons Is Exciting New Development in Libraries," p. 8-9.

• The CFT was highlighted in the Jan. 10, 2005 issue, of Vanderbilt's Daily Register: "Center creates links to disciplines, promotes teaching as a scholarly process."

2004

• Vanderbilt professors applaud the Center for Teaching's work in the Winter 2004 Arts & Science Cornerstone article, "Learning How to Teach" (p. 5).

2003

• The CFT's International Teaching Assistant Program (ITAP) is featured in the Vanderbilt Hustler, Feb. 6, 2003: "Program Attracts International TAs."
