There are some differences between the educational system in your home country and the educational system in the United States. On this and the following pages, we draw your attention to some of those differences.

Students in the United States follow a general course of study longer than in many countries. In high school, most students who plan to go to college take a variety of classes, which continues into the first two years of college. For the most part, they do not begin to specialize until their second or third year of undergraduate studies.
