The College of Arts and Sciences established the Microcomputer Laboratories in 1984 to support instruction in the College and the University. At present you may choose among two walk-in computer laboratories and three computer classrooms housing a total of 147 systems. The facilities are conveniently located on the main campus.

The Center was founded in 1986 to advance teaching excellence in the College of Arts and Science, and expanded in 1997 to serve the entire university. The Center's programs and services are thus available to any member of the university's teaching community, including full-time and part-time faculty, teaching assistants, post-doctoral fellows, and anyone else involved in the instructional process at Vanderbilt.

The Language Center provides a space for the use of technology in the teaching and learning of second languages. A technology enhanced classroom, a 20-station computer lab, a tv lounge for viewing foreign films, and a faculty lab areaare at your disposition.

The primary mission of the LRC is to enhance learning by providing audio-visual services for classes of the College of Arts and Science at Vanderbilt University. Equipment and services are available without charge for all classes and projects related to the formal academic program of the College. Some equipment and services are available for non-College use for a fee.

Tutoring Services offers assistance to students who wish to enhance their academic performance in classes offered by the College of Arts and Sciences in Biological Sciences; Chemistry; Economics; Mathematics; Physics; and foreign languages. Services are free of charge, and available by appointment.

The Director of Undergraduate Writing serves as a resource person for faculty and graduate teaching assistants who teach writing courses. The program sponsors workshops on the teaching of writing, and is responsible for training new instructors.

The Writing Studio at Vanderbilt University provides all undergraduate students the opportunity to meet with trained writing consultants to discuss individual writing concerns, from invention to drafting to revision. The Studio provides a space for students to discuss work-in-progress, to create their own writing, and to utilize available writing resources.
