Arts & Science classrooms are scheduled during the building of the Schedule of Courses (January/February for Fall courses, September for Spring courses, and December for Summer courses). To ensure that the classroom your course is scheduled to use is sufficient for your needs, you should fill out a Special Facilities Request form and have it included in your department's schedule submission.
Classrooms are scheduled for use for academic purposes by Scheduling Co-ordinator Racquel Goff in the ORIR (ext. #2-7937, or email racquel.goff@vanderbilt.edu). This includes all activities associated with A&S courses and some additional activities that are associated with academic credit, such as dissertation defenses.
If you need a room for any activity not associated with A&S course credit, you must schedule the room through the Office of Schedules and Reservations (OSR). The OSR can schedule special events into A&S classrooms as well as other spaces available across the campus. For information on whether or not a fee will be charged, consult the A&S Policy and Procedures manual, which is available in every A&S departmental office.
The website of the Office of Schedules and Reservations offers many room details, including capacity, technological amenities, and photos of the spaces.
The College of Arts & Science has developed an online facility to view the scheduled use of A&S class rooms. The hope is that this tool will greatly simplify the process of locating a suitable and available room for your event.
