Fall 2009
| Jul 27 | Fall Registration Period Begins at 8:00 A.M. for students bumped or cancelled course. |
| Aug 3 | Fall Registration Period Begins at 8:00 A.M. for all students. |
| Aug 19 | Deadline for all students to pay fall charges without a late payment fee;. Failure to meet this deadline will result in cancellation of the student's registration. |
| Aug 22 | Orientation begins for new undergraduate students; Residence halls open at 12:00 Noon for new students |
| Aug 26 | Classes begin. |
| Aug 27 | Change Period begins at 8:00 A.M.; Pass/Fail Registration begins; Wait List Period begins |
| Sep 1 | Wait list Period ends at 4:00 P.M. |
| Sep 2 | Fall Registration Change Period ends at 4:00 P.M.; Last day undergraduates students may add a course or drop a course with no entry on their records; Last day undergraduates may register for P/F status in any course. |
| Sep 7 | Labor Day - No Holiday. |
| Sep 14 | Deadline for application to Vanderbilt abroad programs for Spring 2010. |
| Oct 2 - Oct 4 | Freshman Family Weekend. |
| Oct 16 - Oct 17 | Homecoming. |
| Oct 22 - Oct 23 | October Break. |
| Oct 30 | Last day undergraduates may withdraw from courses--after this date students must continue with courses in which they are registered; Deadline for students to change from P/F status to regular graded status in a course at 4:00 P.M.. |
| Nov 2 | Spring Registration - Course Request Period Begins at 8:00 A.M. |
| Nov 13 | Course Request Period for Spring 2009 ENDS at 4:00 P.M. |
| Nov 21 - Nov 29 | Thanksgiving Holidays. Classes are in session through Friday, Nov. 21, and begin promptly at 8:10 A.M., Monday, November 30th. NO EXCUSED ABSENCES. |
| Dec 10 | Last day of classes for Fall semester. All incomplete work for the semester must be made up by this date unless an extension has been granted by the Dean on recommendation of the instructor. |
| Dec 19 | Reading Days and Examinations. Grades are due 48 hours after the Final ends. |
Spring 2010
| Jan 7 | Deadline for students to pay tuition, fees, and all other charges for the Spring Semester. Failure to meet this deadline will result in cancellation of the student's registration." |

| Jan 18 | Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - No Holiday |
| Jan 19 | Waiting lists closes at 4:00 P.M. |
| Jan 20 | Spring Registration Change Period ends at 4:00 P.M.; Last day undergraduates students may add a course or drop a course with no entry on their records; Last day undergraduates may register for P/F status in any course; Last day undergraduates may drop Blair performance courses with no music fee charged. |
| Feb 1 | Deadline for application to Vanderbilt abroad program for Fall 2009. |
| Mar 6 - Mar 14 | Spring Break. |
| Mar 19 | Last day undergraduates may withdraw from courses. After this date students must continue with courses in which they are registered. Deadline for students to change from P/F status to regular graded status in a course at 4:00 P.M.. |
