Sept. 29 – Brownbag lunch: Writing letters of recommendation for graduate school
12:30pm – 1:45pm, location TBA
When a student asks you to write a letter of recommendation to graduate school, the task sounds pretty simple. Yet these letters can be challenging. Come hear senior faculty members discuss their strategies for candor, effectiveness, and efficiency. Co-sponsored with The Writing Studio. Bring your lunch; dessert will be provided.

Oct. 29 – Brownbag lunch: Writing for general audiences
Many grant proposals require a short paragraph or two in which you summarize your research for an audience of non-experts. Susan Kuyper, Grants Resource Officer for the College of Arts and Science, will offer suggestions about how to write these descriptions for general audiences. Bring your own lunch; dessert will be provided.
