About the College of Arts and Science

New Foundations

Changes in technology, curriculum, and programs all necessitate changes in campus infrastructure. Aging buildings, too, must be renewed. The College of Arts and Science is working to raise funds for several building projects in various stages of completion. These include:

The Biological Sciences/Medical Research III Building This new building was completed in June 2002 and is now occupied by faculty from both Arts and Science and from the basic science departments of the Medical School. Naming opportunities of all sizes are available throughout the building.

The New Studio Arts Building The long-awaited new Studio Arts building is now a reality. The building is located near the current site of the University Club and marks a new gateway into the Vanderbilt campus.

The Renovation of Buttrick Hall The new, expanded Buttrick Hall, houses state-of-the-art classrooms, interdisciplinary program offices, and graduate student carrels.
