Career Opportunities

Opportunities are simply experiences that allow you to explore, learn and grow. They may include full time positions, internships, and volunteer work and can be paid or unpaid. They may present themselves at times when you least expect them so always be open to new possibilities.

These experiences can help build your resume and also help you determine options after graduation.

Most students will find internships and full time opportunities through networking with people they know like family, friends, co-workers and others.

Here are a few of the many ways to discover opportunities:

  • VCC Networking Events: Industry Career Days, Total Access, Vanderbilt Conversations, and employer information sessions occur throughout the year and are great ways to connect with alumni and employers. These events are typically advertised on the Google calendar on the VCC main page.

Register and upload your resume in CareerLink, the VCC database for internships and full time opportunities.

  • Explore Job Postings available on job boards, industry and company web sites.
  • Contact alumni on VUConnect to ask advice and connect with their networks.
  • Talk to professors and advisors about industry contacts.
  • Attend professional association meetings.
  • Explore opportunities to work on campus and in the Nashville community.
  • Join VCC cluster list serves.
