NOTE: At this time, CareerLink (Symplicity) cannot convert .docx files into PDF. Please either save document to be converted (resumes, cover letters, etc) into a Word 2003 compatible (.doc) file before uploading or convert to PDF before uploading.
Also please be aware that the conversion process can take quite a bit of time. This is because conversion is done in a queue-like fashion, similar to the way a printer works. So if there are a lot of other people trying to convert to PDF, then it might take a long time for a document to get converted.

To avoid issues with the conversion process, it is possible to skip the conversion process by uploading PDF documents directly.

• Mac users can create PDFs by selecting "Print" from the File menu. In the dialog that comes up they can then click on the "PDF" button in the lower left hand corner. They can then select "Save as PDF..." they can then save the file to their computer and then upload it into CareerLink without having to convert.
• Windows users may have to install third-party software to create PDF documents. A couple of solutions can be found by conducting a quick internet search for "PDF convertor free." After installing this software, a pdf can be created by selecting "Print" from any application. In the print dialogue box that comes up, simply select the printer with the "PDF" name in it. Then save the PDF and upload it to CareerLink.
• For further assistance with the conversion into PDF please refer to the user's manual for the software you are using. The Career Center is unable to provide assistance with such software.
