Helping You Transition from Vanderbilt to What's Next!

Senior Transition

The Center for Student Professional Development is hosting a series of workshops targeted to seniors – but any student can attend – during late March and early April. These workshops will help students learn how to network and create connections, develop a job plan, leverage Vanderbilt services after graduation, and how to be successful on the job as a new employee.

Stop by our table during Grad Fair to learn about Center services and resources available to you up to two years after graduation.

How to Succeed on the Job from Day 1

A workshop dedicated to explaining all the things new hires experience when they start a job such as on-boarding, performance evaluations, company culture, and more.

Connecting and Staying Connected

Learn how to use LinkedIn to make professional connections with industry leaders, students, and alumni. This is an interactive, hands-on workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops.

Design What's Next!

Held in three sessions, these workshops are for seniors* still searching for their first professional opportunity. Each session builds on knowledge from the previous session, so students are encouraged to attend all workshops to gain maximum benefit.

Session 1: What Do I Like?

During this interactive session students will leave with concrete examples of their interests matched with their skills.

Expedited Services for Seniors

We fast-track seniors to ensure they get the immediate attention and services they need to successfully transition to life beyond Vanderbilt. Simply call or visit our office, indicate you are a senior, and depending on the services you need, our front office staff will schedule you for a one-on-one coaching appointment.

The Center provides support to Vanderbilt graduates for two years following graduation. Visit our Alumni page to learn more.
