5-6 p.m. — Coach’s Call-in Show

Open to all fans, registration not required

Come listen to Coach James Franklin as he breaks down the upcoming matchup between the Commodores and Wolfpack. After the show, head to Memorial Gym to watch our men’s basketball team play Butler at 7p.m. For men’s basketball tickets, call the Vanderbilt Athletics Ticket Office at (615)322-GOLD(4653).

Sunday, December 30

9-11 a.m. — Franklin American Mortgage Coaches Brunch

Come to the official chalk talk event of the bowl, featuring the two head coaches.

5-7 p.m. — MusicFest and Battle of the Bands

Corner of 2nd Avenue and Broadway
Admission is free

Come watch the Spirit of Gold Marching Band face off against the Power Sound of the South Marching Band. Prior to the musical battle, Diamond Rio will perform a free concert at 5p.m.

7-10 p.m. — Vanderbilt Bowl Kickoff Celebration

SOLD OUT. Walk ups available for general admission to main floor only; cover charge will apply.

Due to the overwhelming response of our alumni and fans, the Kickoff event is sold out as we have reached maximum capacity for our reserved space on the second and third floors of the Wildhorse Saloon. Commodore fans are still encouraged to join us Dec. 30 at the Wildhorse Saloon on the first floor, which will be open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. A $10 cover charge by the Wildhorse Saloon, not including food or drinks, will be required.

Monday, December 31

8-11 a.m. — Commodore Tailgate

LP Field, south end of stadium SOLD OUT.
$30 per person for adults, $15 per person for children 6 to 12, free for children 5 and under

Come tailgate with Commodore fans before the game between Gates 8 and 9. The Nashville Vanderbilt Chapter and the National Commodore Club invite you to wear your black and gold and come early to soak up the game day atmosphere. A brunch buffet will be served. Cash bar will be available.

Opens 8 a.m. — Vandyville

Come bring your tailgate tent, and set up your black and gold area close to other Commodore fans. Space is limited.

8:20 a.m. – ‘Dore Alley

Student tickets are available for $60 and should be purchased through the Vanderbilt Ticket Office and will be placed together to give a “student section” atmosphere.

Student Shuttle for Music City Bowl

• Picks up from Terrace Place
• Runs from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Will drop off at the Country Music Hall Of Fame. Short walk to the downtown pedestrian bridge
• Students must have a Valid Vanderbilt Student ID to access the shuttle.

Register to Stay In Your Dorm For Bowl

Beginning Dec. 5, students who are in residence on campus for both the fall and spring semesters, may register to stay during winter break if they do so by no later than midnight, Wed., Dec. 12. REGISTER NOW »

Students MAY NOT register to stay if:

  • you will not be in residence on campus for the spring semester (must completely vacate rooms and checkout by 9 a.m., Sun. Dec. 16.) *
  • you are not in residence on campus now, but will be during spring semester (residence halls will open at noon, Fri. Jan. 4.) *

*Requests to stay or move in early cannot be considered due to the short period of time for cleaning rooms between fall and spring semesters.

We have sold out of our rooms at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel. We still have a limited number of rooms available at the Doubletree Downtown. With a two-night minimum (Dec. 30 and 31), you can reserve a room at a rate of $289 per night plus tax.

One of the keys to the success of Vanderbilt’s bowl efforts is that all tickets purchased by Commodore fans be done so through the Vanderbilt Ticket Office. This helps to ensure that Vanderbilt can meet all of the necessary financial obligations to the bowl game and helps to solidify future bowl game selections.

Please note: If you are or have been a Vanderbilt season ticket holder, single game buyer or NCC donor, a Ticketmaster account is already associated with your name and email. Please DO NOT create a new account. Call the Vanderbilt Athletics Ticket Office at (615) 322-GOLD (4653) if you do not remember your account information.

All seating for any post-season competition including a bowl, will be allocated by National Commodore Club (NCC) Priority. Fans not in the NCC will be allocated in the following groups and in the order that they are received.

Please contact us at ticket.office@vanderbilt.edu if you have specific questions, but all reservations must be done online and you will get a confirmation of your reservation after the actual bowl is announced on December 2, 2012.

Ticket Priority

Bowl tickets will be assigned in the following order:

  1. National Commodore Club Priority Order (see chart below)
  2. Football season ticket holders who are not NCC members
  3. Season ticket holders in other sports who are not NCC members
  4. General Public

“Active” NCC members will be seated based first on the group (see below), then by their NCC priority point ranking. This system replaces the old priority system that ranked Athletic donors solely by their lifetime giving to Athletics.

Donate Tickets to Area Children

Can’t attend the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl this year? Do the next best thing – buy some tickets and let us donate them to area young people that would not be able to attend.

Call the ticket office at 615-322-GOLD (4653) between 8:30 – 5:00 p.m. (CST) and indicate you want the tickets donated to area youth.
