Thomas B. Walker, Jr.

Thomas B. Walker, Jr., a trustee since 1974, becoming trustee emeritus in 2003, graduated from Vanderbilt in 1947.

After Navy service in World War II, he joined Equitable Securities Corporation and became head of the firm’s Dallas office in 1950. He later became senior vice president and director of Equitable Securities, Morton and Company. He is a member of the New York Stock Exchange, a partner of Goldman, Sachs and Company in Dallas, and a director of Goldman Sachs International of London.
He has been an area chairman and a class agent for the Living Endowment and is currently a member of the Chancellor’s Council and an associate of the Owen Graduate School of Management. He is a former president of the Dallas Security Deals Association and a current member of the National Association of Securities Dealers, the Municipal Advisory Council of Texas, the Investment Bankers Association of America, the Board of Development of Southern Methodist University, and the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts.

He and his wife, Anne Marie, have two sons, Thomas and John Newton.
