Alyne Queener Massey Alyne Queener Massey, a history major and an English minor, received her B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University. A trustee for the University since 1977, becoming trustee emerita in 2003, she worked in the Society Department of the Nashville Banner and in the Women’s Division of Commerce Union Bank. Mrs. Massey currently serves on the board of the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and is a Lifetime Trustee of the Tennessee Botanical Garden and Museum of Art at Cheekwood. She is also a member of the advisory boards of the Tennessee Performing Arts Foundation, the Vanderbilt Heart Advisory Council, the Nashville Mental Health Association, and Friends of Warner Park, and serves on the national advisory council for The Hermitage. She enjoys memberships in the Colonial Dames of America, the Garden Club of Nashville, the Centennial Club, and the James K. Polk Memorial Association. Mrs. Massey has served on the boards of the Nashville Symphony, Outlook Nashville, Historic Nashville, and Planned Parenthood. She is also a member of the board of directors of Blair House. In Palm Beach, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Four Arts and the Palm Beach Preservation Society. She is the mother of Leonard Hearne Armistead III and Robert Hunter Frierson Armistead. |
