Vanderbilt After School Program

The Vanderbilt After School Program (VAP) provides tutors and mentors for young people in the Nashville community.  Each week Vanderbilt student volunteers travel to specific areas to provide much needed academic support, and to offer a level of caring and stability in the lives of these exceptional young people.  The simple goal of VAP is to help young people reach their full potential and guide them towards greater academic success and hopefully towards higher education beyond high school.  VAP partners with The Martha Ingram Commons and The Black Cultural Center to provide tutoring and mentoring at several sites including:
Progressive Baptist Church
Edgehill United Methodist Church
Ernest Newman United Methodist Church
Northwest YMCA (2013)
