Alternative Winter Break is a student-run community service organization whose mission is to promote critical thinking, social action, and continued community involvement.  We seek to combine education, reflection, and direct service on the local, regional, national and international levels.  This is accomplished by sending groups of dedicated and sincere individuals to various locations across the country and the world to engage in issue-specific community service.  Our goal is to not only impact the communities we serve, but also to become educated and inspired by our experiences.
