John A. McCarthy is Professor of German and Comparative Literature at Vanderbilt University and Director of the Max Kade Center for European and German Studies. His research interests include philosophy, rhetoric, social history, the history of science, legal reform, freedom of speech, and the moral import of reading and writing. |
