What we do
| ...Beginning with the
start of the Fall semester, the Ranger team met for physical fitness training at 0600 (6:00 a.m.) 5 days
each week. The Rangers start an intense training program
made up of upper body strengthening, abdominal
strengthening, running, marching (with a 40 pound pack in
boots), stair climbing, etc. ...After a couple of weeks of physical training, the team adds in skill training to prepare for Ranger Challenge. In addition to meeting for physical fitness training each morning, the team comes together other days to practice the various skills. The team also spends two or three Saturdays during this 4 to 5 weeks to hone their skills. As you can see, this 5 week period is filled with intensive training. ...Ranger Challenge is the competition to determine the best Ranger team. Ranger Challenge tests the mettle of each team through competition in 8 events: Army Physical Fitness Test, Basic Rifle Marksmanship, Orienteering, Weapons Assembly, Patrolling, One Rope Bridge, Hand Grenade Assault Course, and the 10K Road March. Ranger Challenge brings together around 30 Ranger teams from all over Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio. |

| The 2007 Ranger Challenge team traveled to Ft. Jackson, SC on Oct 19-21 for the 2007 competition.
