Jane Landers, Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professor of History
$5,450 per person
The Vanderbilt Travel Program is excited to present its first trip in many years to historic and exotic Cuba. Now you have the opportunity to see the land that has inspired some of the world's greatest literature and art. You'll start off in Havana, where you'll be surrounded by colorful sights, music, and the influences of African religion and culture. After crossing the island, the city of Trinidad is your next stop, highlighted by a steam-train ride through the lush Valle de los Ingenios. Dancing with the locals that evening is highly encouraged! You'll take in the scenic beauty of Las Terrazas before one last evening in Havana. Don't miss this opportunity to travel with Professor Jane Landers as she shares her favorite cities and inside knowledge of Cuba. Rest assured, you'll also have plenty of time for cigars, shopping and maybe even the occasional mojito!
Vanderbilt alumni and friends are traveling with Friendly Planet Travel, and they have been issued a license (#CT-2012-295959-1) by the Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) authorizing us to organize and operate People to People programs to Cuba.
