M. Lee SmithM. Lee Smith is married to Marilyn Smith. They live in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and have three children, Connie, Marshall and Lily, and two grandchildren. After graduation Lee stayed at Vanderbilt to receive a law degree. He worked in Washington for Tennessee Sen. Howard Baker and in Tennessee for Gov. Winfield Dunn. In 1975, Lee founded M. Lee Smith Publishers, a legal publishing and printing business that he operated for 30 years before selling it in 2005. Lee is an avid golfer and is often in Nashville for visits with his family and to attend Vanderbilt athletic events.
