Save the Date! October 16 - 17, 2009

Letter from Reunion '09 Chair

Steve TurnerDear Reunion '09 alumni,

I am delighted to serve as general chair of Reunion '09 and encourage you to be a part of the largest alumni celebration at Vanderbilt. Nothing brings back memories quite like reuniting with classmates, walking around campus, watching our Music City Bowl champions in action, and visiting your favorite Nashville venues. Mark your calendars and make travel plans now for Reunion Weekend, October 16-17.

Over the next several months, you will be hearing from classmates and current Vanderbilt students encouraging you to come back and give back. We benefited from the generosity of those who came before us, and now we have the opportunity to build an even stronger foundation for present and future students. One example is Vanderbilt’s new expanded aid program. Beginning in fall 2009, all need-based loans in undergraduate financial aid packages will be replaced by scholarships and grants. Alumni support is necessary to ensure the best and brightest students, regardless of income, can join our Vanderbilt family.

Here are a couple ways to get involved with Reunion now:

  • Visit your class Web pages and add your name to the “Planning to Attend” list.
  • Support your class fundraising campaign by making a gift or five-year pledge. Please consider supporting an area of the university that is meaningful to you, such as your undergraduate or graduate school, a Vanderbilt medical facility, or the National Commodore Club.

I hope that Reunion provides the opportunity for you to see wonderful changes on campus and experience Vanderbilt all over again. I am looking forward to a terrific celebration in October. Go Dores!
