Marissa Shrum is from Chattanooga, TN and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. Since graduating from Vanderbilt in 2003, Marissa has worked in a variety of industries, including the non-profit and political sectors. After working for John Kerry in the 2004 campaign season, Marissa moved to New York to work in communications. She now works for McCann Erickson as a strategic planner for Verizon. Marissa’s still passionate about making a difference and spends free time working with non-profit organizations like Starting Bloc and Planning for Good. Her most recent project is ifweranit.com, a consultancy for innovators under 30.
