Burch couldn’t get enough of Vanderbilt after graduation and stayed on for two years of graduate school in Philosophy. While there, he got a part time job at Summit Medical Center as a PC Tech to remediate their systems for Y2K. Seeing a good job opportunity, Burch left graduate school to continue working for HCA. Over the seven and a half years he worked there, he was promoted to Senior Systems Administrator where he managed the IT staffs of most of the Nashville area HCA hospitals. He left HCA in December of 2006 to help his dad in the family business for a few months after which he helped a friend start up a business. Throughout that time he has acted as an IT consultant to small and medium businesses in the Nashville area. Burch’s future plans are to go to Business School. He hopes to attend Owen (at Vanderbilt) and continue studies in healthcare administration.
Burch is an avid Vanderbilt fan and can be seen at nearly any home (and many away) Vanderbilt sporting events (from football to men’s and women’s basketball to our excellent baseball team). He is a member of the National Commodore Club, and is on their 2020 Society Advisory Committee to increase young alumni support of Vanderbilt Athletics. Burch looks forward to seeing the class of 1998 in October. Go ‘Dores!
