KentKent Shalibo and Jim Johnson were civil engineering classmates back in their undergraduate days. They have continued their friendship as members of the Engineering Alumni Council and now as Co-Chairs of the Class of ’63’s Reunion.

Kent Shalibo was employed by TVA as a Public Health Engineer after graduation. While at TVA, he received his Masters Degree in Engineering from Vanderbilt. He left TVA in 1967 to accept a sales position with the Chemical Division of Pfizer Inc. and remained with Pfizer for the next 25 years. When Pfizer sold its Chemical Division in 1991, Kent took an early retirement and established KLS Specialty Products, Inc., a distributor of Specialty Chemicals.

Kent and his wife, Dianne, have a farm outside Toccoa, Georgia where Kent continues to run his chemical distributorship. When he is not selling chemicals, he is taking care of his six horses, five dogs, four cats, and one wife. When not at the farm, they can be found at their beach home in Sea Pines on Hilton Head Island.
